Sorry, I haven't found a way to "un-combine" channels, but what I did to get rid of the dual entries in my Guide was create a new channel group called "OTA" (Over The Air). I then populated it with only a single copy of any one channel. Maybe this would help for you too.

I am sorry to say that NO, you cannot do that, because for windows, HDMI audio output and SPDIF/Optical output are different logical soundcards, so (AFAIK) there is no way to do what you want.
However I remember that older video cards with HDMI output (the very first ones) they need a wire to connect to SPDIF...

It turned out to be a DNS problem affecting download.microsoft.com in general. I did more or less exactly what you said except I downloaded and installed the prerequisites manually.
I think the setup should fail more gracefully in this situation and a "Retry" option would be aces.

To work out whats causing the problem you need to provide more information; system specs and logs would be a good starting point.

No i did not find any soulution for this, i had to do the mapping manualy. Hopfulle there is a solution for this before i do the next upgrade. Have you seen the backup setting plugin:
