What is the name of your recording folder? I'm going from memory at the moment, but I'm pretty certain that it should just be card1.
Check the directory exists and I would suggest changing the location in MP configuration and seeing if that helps.

Which version of RC4 are you using, also will video play ok in WMPlayer, if ok in WMP then it is not a hardware problem.
I know there have been reports of freezing after playing multiple videos but do not know if that has been fixed yet, but as I cannot find it in mantis, hopefully it has been, so try a newer svn.

When playing a DVD in WMP open up the Nvidia Player properties and checkout the settings you have used -- especially for the audio !!
Exit that, then run up MP Setup and assuming you are using RC4 [you don't say] explore the decoder property list on the LHS and check the settings being used by MP for the Nvidia Codecs.
