After a few mods my current systems are running W7 both. I'm running HD TV channels without any codecs or tools added (not even FFDShow)

The difference between debug mode and normal mode is that plugins are all disabled in debug mode. Perhaps try disabling all your plugins then re-enabling them one by one until the problem returns (which means you've found a cause).
