Thanks for your help though this doesn't achieve what I want to do because it stops recording the program. I did find a way around this problem by selecting play from live point and then skipping back to the start.

Thats just windows itself messing around with the sound. Volume controle etc. on a bit-perfect signal is not possible. So you have to change the volume by receiver only. I use WMPlayer (from ASIO plugin section) to play DTS/AC3 files @44.1+48khz bitperfect . It does this wonderfully. Thanks to symphy :)

under general tab in tvseries you can check "keep reference to files no longer available" i think that would be it. there is also an option to mark a location as removable. so maybe that has something to do also. sorry i dont use dvds.

Is there really no way already available in MP to spot new channels?
How is anybody otherwise suppose to manage groups and place channels in preferred groups if you can't see what channels are newly added to the "All Channels" group?
I can't imagine the devs didn't think of that...
