I had the same problem which is why I was trying a work-around with an external player. I'm using XP with newly installed SP3, Direct X 9.0c. Rewinding is odd and Fast Forward is non existent except for sound playing faster. I'd like to use the interal player if I can have Rewind/FastForward working.

Don't think MP and SAF is capable of playing Bluray discs, the problem is that there are no free navigator filters for Bluray.

After a little more playing it seems its TV Server which is causing the slow start times, I've removed it and it now boots in seconds.

FYI, I fixed this problem.
It's clearly not a skin problem but a TV Server database. Something was wrong in my MySQL TV Server database :(
To fix it :
1) I made a MySQL dump of the TV Server database
2) I unistalled the TV Server (and deleted the database also)
3) I reinstalled the TV Server
4) I rescan all the TV channels and...
FYI, I fixed this problem.

Had a quick play tonight and managed to work a way around this
I created myself 3 new channels - 8, 17 and 24
I then added them to my group mappings putting them into the "correct" positions.
reloaded MediaPortal and indeed, 19 is now Dave, 25 is Dave+1.
I then went back to the TV channels and removed the tick from TV...

The topbar pause/play/FF seem to work when playing a video (not in fullscreen video). Stop and exit don't have an effect. I have to stop the video by stopping MP from Task Manager. I was using both keyboard and mouse to click the topbar with similar effect. Doesn't make a difference which video codec I use.
