Thanks for your help pete, I really do appreciate it. I do have TV and MP to stop on suspend and start on resume with MP standby handler. but the weird thing is standby handler actually makes my comp. worse. I have it scheduled to wake up at 6:30 every mon-fri and now it isnt doing that, and last night it woke up but the TV service...

currently, the german layout is enabled.
btw it is a english xp pro with installed mui. the shortcut for mute is normaly M but even after press F8, the sound goes down. BTW M to Mute works smoothly.
I would change this but M and F8 are fixed settings.
