Strange, the link works for me.
Anyway, I did not have a MediaPortal.exe.setting backup so moved it away and could kinda start MP now. But got an error. But since I got that far I tried a reinstsall without removing skin etc and it worked!

what I have seen in your log files is, that the the TVServer couldn't open the database for your user "SA". Fix first this problem. On your report you wrote that you use RC4 better update to final release. Perhaps then it works. I have no problems with playing DVDs.

Currently the EPG on my client machine shows 10 rows and 4 hours across which is hard to read. Incidentally, my TV server machine only shows 2 hours across. This is how they were from install.
How do I change the amount of EPG data displayed? Wouldn't it make sense for this to be available under TV settings?

If I configure MediaPortal to NOT use any remote, and instead map out some functions in the .ini file for the Hauppauge IR software I can control MediPortal that way, which works fine until the TV stream kicks in and the remote cuts out all the same.

If you have PDVD codec, thats the one to use for mpeg as you get dxva (hardware acceleration).
Chances are you have so much software installed that have there own codec's, this may cause conflicts between themselves, if you ever have problems, run filmerit (link in sig).

Playing it in Windows Media Player or Media Player Classic works just fine.
I was trying to uninstall ffdshow, didn't help. reinstalled, didn't help.
