Read my post above. You can still do all that with an embedded DB like VistaDB, which is only about 1MB in size and get get compiled as a module directly into the .NET project. It will thus run in the same memory-space as the server component and all clients can connect to it remotely and concurrently.

Something that is surely not going to happen. Not in a nice daydream we could agree on the "default" features that HTPC application has (that is what defines what kind of buttons we need to have).
Also it's one time only operation to set up the remote (after all you shouldn't be changing the HTPC application once a month like geeks...

I've been using MediaPortal since about a year, and I think it's great, and it's becoming even greater each day...
At the moment there is no keyboard shortcut available to go into EPG, TV, VIDEO, MUSIC & DVD directly.
This is a problem for users which use remote controls, e.g. iMon, which use keyboard shortcuts to control MediaPortal.
A workaround is the Keyboard-Plugin, wich is not working with the newest MediaPortal right now.
Maybe an other...
