that's my first try with mediaportal. The interface looks awesome !
But my TV (DVB-S, twinhan 1027) does not work...
nope. Unfortunately IRDA doesn't work on the same principal as IR remotes.
You *may* get lucky and find yours is compatible, but most aren't.
My advice would be to buy an MCE remote. They are very cheap off ebay or from retail stores and have a USB reciever included.

It does sound like a good feature, but there are lots of good features and just not enough devs to actually implement them.
The TV server comes a little bit closer if you are watching recorded TV. It will ask if you would like to resume from the last watched position on any client you are on.
