There seem's to be a common thread that devices are not restarting properly, whether it's a cam, remote or tv card after coming out of standby.
What i would love to know is anyone running xp pro with all MS updates and MP 0.2.0.3 and successfully using standby/hibernate and also powerscheduler.

Hi, see your running the same res as me, so your windowed view is 4:3 and fullscreen 16:9, so stretch/zoom are your desired modes. Now the Black screen could be a codec problem, use default MPV/MPA for getting up and running, also untick the use exclusive use of DirectX and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks for the offer! However I stumbled upon a program called uICE which thankfully recognizes my remote. I just assigned each button to a keyboard function and MediaPortal seems to pick it up.

I just bought a Twinhan Visionplus DTV DVB-C PCI card that came with a remote and an usb-receiver. The card is working just fine, but I don't know how should I setup that usb-receiver and remote for MediaPortal.

You have to configure WinLIRC with your remote. Than you have to put the plugin-file (dll) into the process-plugins folder and you can configure it in the setup menu under process plugins - works fine for me. Always start WinLIRC before MP of course ;) .

I recently bought a TwinHan Ter (Terrestial), and after a while finally got it to work with MP (needed updated drivers)...
There is no DVD change facility available "under" the mydvd button.
However, you can integrate the program Deamon Tools with MP.
That way, you can search trough your DVD's (or, more precise your iso files) in the My Video's section and let Deamon tools mount these files (assign a drive letter).

The sad thing with the Hauppauge remote program is that it does not handle long file names, hence the "progra~1" and so on.
Perhaps you should also write "mediap~1.exe" instead of "mediaportal.exe"?
My solution was to create a shortcut to Mediaportal.exe, call it "mp" and place it directly under "C:".

Thanks for advice, tried it and works fine now although seems to be an issue with 'Now playing' screen not updating the track info on the vfd as it works fine when in share view! I'm using 0.2 final update 3.

Come on people, please. Sombody must have come accros this in the past and know a way to get around it. It's driving me nuts! And seeing as this is the only way to change the TV channel (seeing as Sky won't ever release a TV card for the PC) it's really limiting Media Portal...so close to ditching MCE 2005........

The "white snow" is probably the teletext information. This is not normally visible - TV's normally eliminate it using overscan. On very old TV's with vertical hold (Vhold) adjust you could 'lower' the picture to make the teletext lines visible.
As jawbroken advised, adjusting the overscan in 'Settings' is the easiest way to fix...
