Update: After using Rad light filtermanager and unregister MPEG2DEC and MPEG/AC3/DTS/LPCM audio decoder, nVidia took over! The taskbar icon is there, and also the aspect ratio is fixed :)

An update: I get sound through the mobo speakers out jacks by defining default direct sound device as audio renderer in media portal movie player setup. Therefore the problem is only with TV and radio and the problem is the same with hauppauge wintv: sound only through spdif and stereo line.

Well if the problem was known about, it would have been fixed in 0200RC2. If its still not fixed there, it must be an isolated problem and I would still look at that video card. You dont need another tv card to test, just a newer video card.

I think you will find that analogue software TV cards are no longer supported in MediaPortal.
If you want a hybrid card (analogue and digital), then you will need to get one that has a hardware MPEG2 encoder - like the Hauppauge one - the WinTV-HVR-1300.

- Check "Use Exclusive DirectX Mode"

I came up with that one too. It lists the file names as a benefit to the above. I should add the dvr-ms extension to the movies extension list though. Otherwise they will not be displayed.

I currently have Media Portal installed on XP Pro. I know Windows MCE 2005 is a tweaked version of XP with the "MCE" application...
I believe there is a bug in the Quality tab where actually changing to a different default doesn't work, but you can actaully change the bitrate value itself and that does work. Anyway, I'm afraid I can't confirm the graphs as I don't share your hardware.
