I believe there is a bug in the Quality tab where actually changing to a different default doesn't work, but you can actaully change the bitrate value itself and that does work. Anyway, I'm afraid I can't confirm the graphs as I don't share your hardware.

I have noticed also some distortion on MP3:s when using windows mediaplayer 10. General usage is ok but quality of sound is not. I thought mine loudspeakers were broken, now i realize that i need to test this thing further.

Hello again, well the more I delve into it the more it seems like a no-brainer to buy a prebuilt media cntre with Win XP MCE...
TBH, the existing setup is not natural functionality at all IMHO. When fast-forwarding, you should should not have to "rewind" to return to normal speed. The natural presumption of the rewind key is that it rewinds, not reduces the play speed.

I'm going to assume you guys(?) are running MP 0.1.3 since .2 doesn't officially support SW cards anymore. Some people had good results with FFDSHOW, but many don't so I would recommend not using it (I didn't use it).

1. Use dvd decryptor to rip in ifo mode, i choose allow stream processing and select language and subititles that i want. This gives me the video_ts (vob) files at about 6 Gb.
