Just updated from 1.00 to 1.0.2 and the TV part is really different, what was wrong with the good old simple one? this new one...

I've added several folders to my video folder list, scanned them for IMDB info and no movies or folder browsing options turn up...

I had the same issue two days ago. I fixed it last night by accident. I re-installed .net 3.5 which fixed this issue. media portal is now working fine.

I downloaded and installed March 2009 DX 9c, then installed MediaPortal 1.0.2
The installer warned that "another version is already installed" and it will uninstall->download->install DirectX 9.0c August 2008.
The installer then completed and I could execute MP, but it then I get the error "Please install a newer DirectX 9c redist"...

It appears that some tv-cards does only work with software encoding, apparantly because they have no hardware chip to encode the signal .. so I did following mistake at install time:

I had the same problem with 7 RC1.
Fixed it by instaling the IR-Suite thingy form the plugins section.
1. Install left all settings as default.
2. Deselect MCE controller in MP Config.
and away we go, all buttons working again.

Yeah I have the same problem.
Win TV detects my TV card fine, and works ok, but the TV server in MP will not detect the same card.

I got one more problem.
When mediaportal is mounting a video, the sign with "The virtual drive wasn't ready in time" still appear. The options I got is "Ret(ry)" or "Can(cel)". But it's appear in the "background", just behind windows media player.
Any ideas? :(

I have the same problem with antoher Logitech remote S510 Media Remote.
Has worked fine for a year, but not anymore after doing some configurations in MP & also adding a hotkey in the Logitech SW.
Have checked the 'back'-key in MP's HID and MCE remote setup : -Set to 'Previous menu', no conditions.

Why dont you use Moving Pictures. This plugin scans the image its name and grabs the covers from internet all by its self. If it has multiple matches, it will ask you to select the correct one. You can also create a .txt / .nfo file in each folder of a movie with the imdb url in it of the movie. This way the match is always correct...
