I just installed mediaportal version 1 on my pc. I already had Microsoft SQL 2005 Express, and configured that. Now when I run setuptv.exe, the connection is green so that is OK too. But when I click "save" I get a message that it can't create database....

i have a problem with a pci parallel card digitus (moschip 9865)
the card with lcd studio and ksh108 display works very fine,but with mediaportal not work

More info:
A (digital) antenna recieves the signal and he is connected to a Digital Terrestrial Receiver ( Samsung SMT-1000T). Normally is this one connected to the TV via a SCART-cable. But I am trying to connect it with my pc, via a yellow composite-cable..
Maybe I have to setup it via "received by external settop box"? But...

There is no mapping for Canada in WebEPG. Kinda strange since I get NY stations, and US get's ours. However when I auto map it to the US, they are not right. As Mr. Hill says about his son.
40 is Discovery here, not MTV for example.
is there a place for Canadian stations?

I updated to 9.2 to try it out and it gave me problems. I had previous problems with 9.1 and had read that 8.12 was a good build...
Just to update.
Everything seemed to fix itself once I decided to upgrade everything to the new Test SVN of the week. Not a recomendation, just saying that it seemed to fix whatever was fubard with my MCE Remote.
All back to normal now...hehe

Well I got it to work but it's not working often for crypted channels.
Most of the time i got the error "channled is scrambled" or "channel is crypted".
Actually it worked once, not been able to view crypted channel ever since. Not changed any settings, just stoped working on his own.

It's easy when you know where to look! I just had to click on the sound panel tray icon, click "mixer", and adjust the settings.
(Don't know what I did to mess up that setting in the first place, though...)

Are you sure that is what you want to do and not just drop the database, as in use SQL Server Management Studio Express
to login (sa +MediaPortal) and select the MpTvDb to be removed.
This will give you a clean start on the TVServer side.

I've combined the SD and HD local channels I get. Not only do i no longer get channel info via schedules direct but I can no longer record on the combined channels. If you rename the C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal to Mediaportalold and uninstall\reinstall, will config start then.
Also check the virtualstore for any MP details and delete.
ie, c:\users\name\AppData\VirtualStore\Program Files\MyApp\UserData, name needs to be your log on.
