This is not really a support question but a more general question.
My win XP based system running latest MediaPortal SVN...
I have kind of same problem but in opposite TVE3 finds all the channels OK but new SVN builds of MediaPortal don't find always all the channels. I never got TVE3 work with it's MyTV plugin, the whole MP just hangs and FireDTV locks up (red light instead of green) when I try to watch tv.
I think Mediaportal fucks up FireDTV somehow...

This issue is known. And has been fixed with the current SVN's (public builds should appear over night, normally). You need at least 15747 for MP and 15746 for the server.

We downloaded the last'est svn for september for the client machine and the most recent TV3 server we could find as well.

Same problem here. Because I do not have any problems with my other card I think it is a Technotrend issue. I will go with the new FloppyDTV S2 from Digital Everywhere for HDTV and sell my two Technotrend S2-3200 cards on eBay.

well I got a bit further and figured out it was SVHS#1. CVBS#1 worked as well but gave me only a black and white picture. Preview still doesn't work, but MP tunes it. However I dont get an "external" tab or option when I start the server config and try to edit the channel.

I get this on the same UK channels, ITV4 being the most common fllowed by BBC3 and 4. BUT not all channels on a MUX/frequency are similarly affected.
