Basically on friday my media portal stopped working, it starts but crashes about 5 mins in with an SQL - time out error...
It sounds like a coincidence to me - there is nothing in v1.0final that would cause your Cinergy 1400 to fail?
Powerscheduler works perfectly here - do you want to start another thread on this issue to get it resolved, or are you happy with your current workaround?

ts format works for recording, but only in last few days have I got scheduled recordings to work reliably. This was achieved by unchecking the "reinitialise TV service" option in Powerscheduler and also allowing PC to go to standby itself. Thanks again to help from other threads.

Thanks to Diddip, the problem with PowerScheduler was solved: I disabled Windows firewall and restarted the PC, run MP and stopped. Enabled the firewall and restarted the PC again. After that my problems with PowerScheduler disappeared.
But a new error appeared in error.log at TVServer logs:

Just done a rescan and found BBC Three and Four, so thanks for that advice.
Still have the error of UnableToStartGraph when I try and view my own attempt at viewing BBC Three, but at least it's up and running.

Disabling the TVserver service didn't solve the problem.
I did a clean install of MP 1.0 on the second boot partion (what a work every time ...) let's see if that works.

I have moved the TVserver (and tuner cards) from the living room PC to the media server PC in the attick. Most seems to work fine...
The problem has something to do with RTSP i think, i managed to fix it using the following steps
1. I updated to latest SVN 21813
-> This didn't fix problem
2. Then I edited mediaportal.xml on the client that stutters and added <entry name="usertsp">no</entry>
