Hmmm.
For HDTV-material PDVD is quite good actually. But for SDTV it's crappy. It could be a matter of tweaking. But since -except for the aspect ratio- mpv was good I stopped trying with PDVD.
Pure video isn't looking good as well. Also, with my graphiccard, hardware acc. is not supported.
Any alternative codec for watching...

I noticed though that the latest MP installer uses DirectX 9c and i remember re-installing DirectX10 recently for a game... you dont...

Thanks for the replies. In fact, since I am using one of the codec packs (did not know any better at the time), the ffdshow was set for everything. I also used graphedit to verify what was going on, so thanks for that suggestion. I got it working the way it should....:)

I gave 8.7 a second try and it seems to work, 8.8 is still "broken".
The issue I have is that the deinterlacing for Canal+ Film/Sport HD is not working as weel as it should. Really bad horizontal pans :(
