My MediaPortal install is now very broken. I reinstalled, but it crashes my PC constantly now.
This has not been a fun experience.
Please fix the installer so it works in a more sensible way and doesn't give these problems to anyone else.

I think the issue is that MP can't properly detect whether it is running in full screen because the screen resolution reported by the video driver and/or Windows at the time are incorrect. When i select slideshow mode in Picture, not all videos are played. Some of them are randomly skipped.

The files get deleted before they are replaced. Obviously if the files aren't downloadable (because FSF took them down) then they will be deleted and not replaced => empty directory.
That was only a problem because those people used the default FSF transponder definitions. MP expects a slightly different format.

I tried it, but got the same error... and when i look inside gentle.config afterwards, localhost is inserted back in insted of htpc.
i tried changeing my host file to "ip of TV/DB server" localhost and that did the trick... i just hope there arent any other programs useing localhost...

Sounds hardware\driver related to me, MP might be using something unstable, usually graphics\audio related as MP uses directx for its gui.
What gpu and driver are you using, same for audio, let us know and we might figure it out, especially if you give us some logs after it has happened, use option 3 of watchdog.

Always try to fill holes is checked.
EPG grabbing while idle is checked.
