However, I checked all the files in the directory and all are ok??? Very strange they are all playing in Mediamonkey.

could it be that your digital to analog box is just a video to RF converter? Means, that's the way you're hooking up your tv because there are no s-video or rca inputs on your tv?
You don't have to search for a s-video to composite cable, the yellow rca out is your composite connection.

I agree with MrCrabs. Had my HTPC connected via wireless in the beginning with quite good signal strength, but overall it was not satisfying. With Powerlan it's better, but still not as good as regular Ethernet.

By itself, it does not provide a front end, you will need something like aMPdroid (Android application), or WebMediaportal (for browser based access) to interface with MPExtended.

So I seem to have sorted out the issue.
I can now get TV and scan the channels ok. Yet to get EPG data, but I'm sure I can work through that.
What I had to do was rollback to Vista/2k drivers for my tuner. The Win7 drivers were causing the problem obviously. Not sure why, but there you go!

What is realy needed is the check that removes the database entries should either be user select option and/or should add missing database entries when new files are found.
It could/should be moved to the 'clean up options' and not be automatic every time you enter 'recordings'

Can I prevent MediaPortal TV recordings will delete from the database when an (external) drive is switched off?

Load "regedit.exe" and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HidIr\Remotes\745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da
Then delete the keys from "CodeSetNum0" to "CodeSetNum3".

Thanks for the reply, this guide looks good I'll have a dabble tomorrow. Think I found the problem, dreaded iTunes had planted its library backup folder where I store music so think that's why showing duplicates. MP was doing such a thorough job it also must have scanned this folder as well.
