The DTS playback test (windows sound properties) should not play back white noise, it should play a test tone (ding ding dong), if it plays noise, or a distorted tone, then that format is not supported.

The switch I connect this machine too in the lounge, actually has wireless as well (sitting right beside the Macmini), so just as a test, disabled the Eth and used just wireless, and VLC worked, UNC in Mediaportal worked!!!
So went to Broadcomm website and found a later driver for the Eth Card...

No need to post a screenshot - I know what you're describing. During tuning (ie. when TV Server is starting timeshifting, starting recording or starting the EPG grabber) this is normal behaviour.

Yes, I'm an idiot - I should have checked the mixer while MP was running. As far as the Mixer was concerned, MP was muted. One quick click, and I have sound again.

The fixed that were in Mediaportal 1.4 included solves a lot of Problems, especially the annoying Windows 7 Half & Full Screen...
