I don't understand your answer, can you expand a bit? What i have tried is inserting a DVD, and selecting all episodes manually from the ifo file. However, this doesn't work, as the only the last added episode points to the ifo (the link is forced unique it seems).

kkzoma: remember, most of these plugins are pulling info from third-party websites. And thetvdb.org has a tendency to go offline about one a month or so due to bandwidth overuse. Not the fault of Mediaportal, not the fault of the plugin coder.
Give it 48 hours before getting mad at Mediaportal. =P

OK, found what was causing the issue - in config (DirectShow Filter Control), changed Video Renderer from VMR9 to EVR and it was all back to normal. I had changed it to VMR9 a little while back when playing around trying to get subtitles working in an .mkv file. Changing back to EVR fixed the issue!
