never looked at the fine print on the HD comskip details. For USA antenna/ATSC 1080i/720p normal broadcast TV, basic comskip works. But MP is used in lots of different countries, so HD and comskip may have different requirements depending on your location.

This is based on the assumption that your display/gpu combination can do 1080p24 but can't do 1080p23 (aka 23.976hz)

Weird? It's been that way for a looong time. The scheduler needs to know which channel a recording is associated with. The Matroska file for each recording gives the channel name. If you don't have a channel with matching name at the time of import then the recordings are listed with "...Channel: unknown..." and greyed.

Why does TV server fail to import some recordings?

Turning on and off Dolby encoding in Sound Blaster Pro Studio fixed the issue.
Creative clearly have a nasty bug in there. At least it seems I have a workaround that does not involve rebooting.

If you can't install VC++ 2008 and 2010 redistributables manually then it's no surprise that MP has problems trying to do the same thing.
Do you run security software (anti-virus, anti-spyware etc.)? If so, maybe try disabling it while installing the VC++ redistributables. If that doesn't help then I'm not...
