I've got a quick question; I have online videos plugin that I use to watch tv shows, specifically the tube+ site. However, I don't see an option for Hulu (the free version). So when I want to watch something on Hulu right now, I have to close MediaPortal & fire up my browser and use my keyboard.

I'm running MP 1.3.0.0 on a Windows 7 system. Sometimes when opening a video file for playback I get an error box popping up saying that MP has crashed. The video then continues playing, overlaying the error box which I see again when I close MP and return to the Windows desktop.

OK so looks like something possibly failed on installation.
In future please try and replicate the issue using the debug mode (http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_MEDIAPORTAL_1/16_Support/Submit_a_Bug_Report)
This will rule out any third party plugin issues and give us clean logs that help identify the issue

When you say "crashes" do you mean freezes, or does MP literally close down with a Windows error message?
I ask because I don't see crashes. I see freezes or hangs... and they're caused by your tuner not responding correctly after resume.

Backup Settings plugin s actually what I used the last time I reinstalled windows.. it was v1.2.0.3 of the plugin. but I was not satisfied since it had to redownload images which lead to many duplicated backdrops and covers.

The culprit of the seemingly random stuttering after 15-30mins or so on certain channels was timeshifting to a USB drive.
I had a feeling all along it was hardware related, as doing something after a specified time is not the sort of problem that software exhibits. I am now timeshifting to a green HDD...

With the greatest respect, my feeling is this forum is totally the wrong place to be asking this question.
The question has basically nothing to do with MP, except that I guess you may want to use MP's TV Server to control the STB.
Keep in mind that few people that use MP use it for STB control.

3) Using my WMC compatible remote I press "Channel +" to go up a channel.
4) I then verify that I have sound.
