To install dokan use this installer and start it from commandline with a " /S" switch (capital 'S' is important).
That way you set the installation mode to "silent" and at the same time switch off the version check.

Thanks, I must of gotten it into some weird state as the option to supply credentials wasn't selectable. After a reboot I was able to provide the username and password and the server was expandable with the + icon.

So after enabling DXVA2 in LAV Video live TV mostly works OK now, but recordings are terrible.

Kodi needs a plugin to communicate with tvserver.
Since something has changed with the plugin structure in TVServer 3.5, we have to wait.

I had been editing the mkv metadata and made sure the "title" field matched IMDB's movie name. That was just to make it look pretty in WMC7 because it would pick that up.
