recordings scheduled by the webinterface never start recording. This is very strange as those recordings show up in MPs...

I'd try listening in on actions, especially the ACTION_VOLUME_DOWN, ,ACTION_VOLUME_UP and ACTION_VOLUME_MUTE actions. To do this, add a handler to the OnActionHandler in MediaPortal.GUI.GUIGraphicsContext (I think that's the correct namespace - its in GraphicsContext.cs in Core\guilib).
