the problem with this is that the disc changer dialog is not part of the plugin code but part of the core media portal framework. In order to make this change, the core developers would have to change it or the plugin developers would have to create a duplicate of that class. Creating a duplicate is often not a good idea.

Any file type that Media Portal will play will work as a custom_intro. The code just invokes the included player passing the filename so you shouldn't have any problems as long as you have a codec installed that supports the file type.

Muxing the film is not that hard. Just download the programm mkvmerge (it is included in the package mkvtoolnix I think). The two movies u wanna mux should only have the same framerate e.g. 25 then there is no problem with the sound.

If you make the whole Genre category static rather than dynamic you can edit the filters for individual entries. You could delete one of your two sports sub categories then on the other set the filter to show stuff from both genre types. Check out this guide for more information.

With some movies i have an issue with coverart! The wrong one will be shown! I have stored coverart as "folder.jpg"...
We've done some internal performance improvements with special focus on thumbs.
A lot of the time the code calls File.Exists(myfile) .. doing this too often will result in bad perf.
We have created an intelligent cache for this. Amongst other things.
This will probably be part of the next release (not 1.2 alpha).
