sometimes when I'm tring to play video (from my video, movingpictures and so on) MediaPortal give error that it cannot play ex. Xvid file. If I play the same file with other player (BestPlayer) all is ok.
I have to restart windows and mediaportal to make it works again.

UPDATE: to turn off the top bar you disable it in the plugins.
The shortcut bar along the top of the screen with various buttons like shutdown, restart, full screen.

There's no way that I can think of to force disconnection with MediaPortal or TV Server settings. TV Server will stop timeshifting if it detects that the connection with the client goes down, so maybe you could schedule the clients to reboot at midnight while you're away?

If you don't write any new files to the drive with the erased series, there is a good change getting those files back using NTFSundelete 0.93 or PC Inspector File Recovery (install them onto a different drive like an usb stick).

The database related changes in MP 1.6 are only relevant if you use MySQL as the TV Server database. Since you use SQL Server [Express], you can just upgrade as normal. Don't forget: we recommend to stop the TV service manually before upgrading.

Best I can tell from reading around in here, if we have a subscription to HBO, we just simply can not watch it with MediaPortal...
Pff finally fixed!
If anyone has got the same issue, this was the fix for me:
Delete all databases,
Remove fanart handler/scrapper
Start mediaportal
Quit mediaportal
Check if new (empty) databases are generated.
Reinstall fanart handler/scrapper.
Open mediaportal config
Go to plugins, fanart handler.
Manually start scrapper for...
