Thought I'd update my own thread.
Found the answer, installed 'ARC - Audio Renderer Changer', just fantastic as it seems to autoselect the input and steers the sound right to the TV. Just hope I've set it up correctly.
Everyone might be aware of this but there might just be someone else out there as confused as me and this may help...

I had group mappings for non-existant channels in my DB, after a bit of backend data validation on the groupmap table I've got it working.
Would it be a good idea to perform some sort of housekeeping process on the DB?

However I will point out that the section of the logs you have posted has the time stamp "18:41:33" which is 6:41 PM.
The HTPC was in use at that time watching TV and I believe that TV Series was updating the database at that time also so, the HTPC would not have slept...

Why not just update to 1.2.3? Can it do any harm?
