Found it - having trashed my test systems, full reinstall of all MePo elements - the PluginConfigLoader is part of MP-TVSeries - it's the 'run MP-TVSeries' options you get on 1st install.

Version I have probably arrived with or earlier MP1.3 and worked a treat upto 1.6 [don't know if pre-1.6 worked].

As I told you there, this is the intended behaviour of PowerScheduler - the server must be up as long as any client is running. If your clients do nothing useful then you should shut them down or better let them sleep automatically after some minutes idle...
