For future reference, the problem was that gonzo90017 had disabled the built-in MediaPortal "Videos"/"My Videos" plugin/section. IMDB lookup won't work with the videos plugin disabled.

Edit / update: I have turned off the "stop playing on loss......" and now I get stuttering of the video and no Audio for a short while, but it does continue playing with sound aftewards.

Well I disabled the refresh rate changer and I also added the Core.dll V3 from the other thread on MP 1.3 crashing and everything appears to have settled down;)
