General questions about HTPC Hardware go in here.
I haven't found any mainboards with the chipset 780G and 4 PCI slot's(I doubt that it exits :) ) but MSI released last fall a "MSI P45 Neo3-FIR" with chipset P45 (hence the name ;) ) but it is relatively pricy (above 200$ in DK). You can find it here MSI P45 Neo3-FIR (471548) - Pris TOP 10 - EDBpriser.dk (Danish price index site)...

I thought so at first, but notice he's stuck in his AGP port - And the AGP versions of the GT and GS features neither Inverse Telecine nor Bad Edit Correction.. So I was just as wrong on this one... So the answer is no, apart from the help gained by the higher clock of the GT when decoding HD material, there should be no difference...

I havent done a hell load of tweaking with it (i run more or less anything thru ffdshow, without any postprocessing) , but somewhere down the line i read that it's only capable of running dx9 on one single output, so i turned off the monitor in bios and run it solely of the video out, and dip into it thru vnc if i wanna do anything to...

Hi!§ The 6150 is the best mobo with onboard gfx - many perfer using nVidia Purevideo-decoders; this makes this mobo an even better choice. nope to the season pass unfortunately. The closest you can get is to tell MP to record every time the show is on and then only keep a certain number of episodes. It doesn't keep track of which ones have already been recorded though, so you will get duplicates if your station plays repeats two hours later or something similar.

Ah, Sorry Okay. I looked at the link before I posted, but couldnt see what you were talking about, but I do now. I think the 150 MCE kit is simply a PVR150 card with an MCE remote included. The 150MCE is physically a different card that has the FM tuner in it. Im assuming the 150 MCE kit is for people who want the MCE...

when you copy back the old directory, make sure you run the Start.bat from the old version. MP1 MP2 Quality HDMI cables DE
Sure, you need a decent one... I usually use Vanco and decent Cat6 cables (have it on a roll, so I get the proper length I need). Had very good experience with this one: http://www.vanco1.com/catalog/Extenders_171/HDMI-Extender-over-2-UTP-Cables-with-IR-Control-100-ft30m_694

MP1 MP2 HTPC Build advice DE
Like I said for those rips that aren't setup correctly for HD DXVA playback you should really try the IDC Changer GUI x264 Encoding Options for Hardware Compatibility & DXVA - AVS Forum it works very well and you don't need to do much to get the job done. Just change the profile to 4.1 and you should be good to go!

Yeah I went with the Scythe Shuriken which seems like a good enough cooler for the job. Now that the temps in Aus are not quite as bad as the days I first built it, the heat is not such an issue. My friends have some case envy going on too, it's most definately the best case I have ever had:)

The best test is football or icehockey. Do you connect your HTPC via VGA? 50Hz via VGA is usually impossible on most LCDs. If you have the option I'd recommend trying a DVI or HDMI connection. From my experience 75Hz is ok until you start watching sports and similar stuff.

Here's another thread to keep an eye on. It looks like there were some de-interlacing issues with earlier drivers, but may be solved now, although bit of a worry regarding the drop rate indicated in one of the posts. Main gripe still seems to be no true 24p support, and MPC-HC codecs not the best for PQ and needing to resort to PDVD...
