The closest you can get is to tell MP to record every time the show is on and then only keep a certain number of episodes. It doesn't keep track of which ones have already been recorded though, so you will get duplicates if your station plays repeats two hours later or something similar.

Like I said for those rips that aren't setup correctly for HD DXVA playback you should really try the IDC Changer GUI x264 Encoding Options for Hardware Compatibility & DXVA - AVS Forum it works very well and you don't need to do much to get the job done.
