If you delete the contents of the MovingPictures thumbs folder, it will re-download all images in the background.
Start -> Programs -> Team MediaPortal -> MediaPortal -> User Files
Then navigate to thumbs\MovingPictures and delete the stuff in there. You might want to make a backup copy of it first, just in case.

I was able to check it out yesterday. For HDDVD it points to Discid.dat. When passing this file to TMT3 it doesn't work. I don't know if PDVD9 can handle this. I'll try to test your solution this week...
