After i found some write errors in tswriter.log (disk full for recordings) - i hoped the problem could be solved easy ;-)
But no - the freeze happens also with a lot of disk space... BTW time shift goes to a different (ram) disk. And playing music should not have to do anything with that, does it?

Had a buddy of mine remote connect. He looked at the ip address in the DB via workbench. Then looked at the servers IP address. They were different. We changed the Servers ip address to match the one in the DB and hey presto all was fine.
He then set the servers ip to be static. So shouldn't see this error appear again.

Yes, it may be time to look at getting a new CAM. The issue might be with specific channels and the transponder bandwidth being too high for the CAM to cope... or something silly like that. CAMs can be tricky critters.
