I managed to test this for a minute or two, and so far it works great! I'll monitor for broken recordings over the next few days, but I'm pretty sure that did it.

So now the fault has changed - it now records SBS News in full but doesn't record ABC-TV at 7pm. It records ABC's 7.30 Report which follows the news. Only thing I can think of is maybe the antenna cable isn't connecting perfectly as there is some pixelation which is a relatively new phenomenon.

I'm not a FloppyDTV expert, but I think you'll find that the problem may be related to firewire and how you've connected the tuners. Ideally you should not daisy chain them, but if you do daisy chain them I think it makes a difference whether you connect the top or bottom...
