Could you try to use the latest SVN & use the BlueTwo skin. Run the SVN something.exe & use the backup alternative.
There have been some issues with fonts which it's solved in SVN. Dunno if this is your problem but give it a try.

What i did ? (after alot of stress this is what i think worked for me)
Install Directx 9.0c april version !
then download the WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe file
installed the MP10 version of mediaplayer.
reboot and try with DxDiag if your video card supports the directdraw (test button)...

I'm almost too embarrased to say but I will anyway: it was my own fault. While collecting all the data again to have my problem dealt with, I noticed that I did not have SP2 installed. After doing so, everything is now running smoothly.

This is not supported in MediaPortal, sorry.
You might wanna search the forums, some users worked around it. But expect major drawbacks, e.g. CPU jumping to 100%, sluggish performance and so on. Those other threads tell you more on that topic.

The installation (first time) Wizard & some Scandinavians version it's a known problem. For some reason on those setup sqlite make this exceptions when using the first time Wizard. With the new TVEngine which use an other database this will not happen.
