I reinstalled windows a couple of times and I may have installed this package before installing this updates. But why is .net 3.5 in use at all? Isn't 4.5 more functional, and have more security built in? If it was a key component is should be in the install process like the others and not a requirements for starting the install.

Correct. The first time you start MediaPortal, you'll get a popup from the Configuration screen if the XML isn't present.
If you have a backup of the old XML (which isn't corrupt!) you can copy that back to the folder, since it contains ALL your Configuration settings for MP.

That is a possibility if TW still have analog cable in your area. Can your TV tell you what type of signal it is receiving?
Unfortunately the website I usually use for checking clear QAM channels doesn't have TW's lineup for your area. TW's website also doesn't give technical details about the lineup... so it's a bit tricky to figure...

Title says it all. It's freezing up when I try to do almost anything to test if it's working. Client logs attached.
Ahhhh, I guess that is because the TechniSat drivers have a more specific ID. So, you'd have to uninstall the current driver before installing the new one.
That can be done using the instructions here:

i uninstalled 1 plugin (HTPCInfo by Micropolis)
Now MePo starts up just fine, no errors, everything is good :)
