I'm trying to select an external player in MP 1.0.2.0 but cant see how to do this. I've downloaded and installed the VLC/Videolan plugin but they just appear on the MPinstaller page and not the Plugin page within MP Config.

The last working full set of codecs from PDVD9 can be found at your favourite torrent site by searching for "DXVA.rar", these need to go in the system32 folder and then registered using the regsvr32m command from the run menu.

Thanks for the advice and link Taipan. My upgrade of video drivers completely stuffed things - something went badly wrong with MPEG 2 decoding and all my TV and DVD's started dropping massive amounts of frames. Had to backout and restore from backup. Probably need to do the complete uninstall of the ATI drivers before re-installing...

I should have posted that I fixed it, but did get back on to do it.
I fixed it by reinstalling MediaPortal - it seems that the installation didn't actually install MP 1.0.1 correctly and reinstalling fixed it.

I gave up on this and many other problems with MP101. It is just to buggy to me!!
Examples:
* Sub problems (as mentioned above)
* TV stream playback messy with <=15 fps (while MP100 plays 25fps).
* 1080p material stutters from time to time with only like 5 fps (while MP100 always shows 23,87 fps).
* MP101 sometimes lags on keyboard...
