I also had lots of problems with DVD navigation, or at least in finding a setting that resulted in reasonable de-interlacing and usable navigation.
BTW, I didn't experiment with audio decoders because I only want stereo and the standard MP decoder works fine for me.

Has either of you actually installed PowerDVD, if so use a filter manager (filmerit in sig) to delete the divx codec installed with it.
Now see if it will play using either mpc or ffdshow that comes with the cccp.
If not, get gspot2.70 and drop the file into it and see what it comes up with for the filetype, but may need reencoding...

It is a bug in MP that .ifo or .vob files (DVD) are not played in external player even if selected. Don't know how the plugin works though and is it using MP's internal functions. Mantis report needed.
