I could see unencrypted channels. Went to the CI menu and changed DVBS to generic (which I changed yesterday because of the problems). Now everything works perfectly!

I always wondered why audiodg kept using 5-15% of cpu without playing any music.
Now I discovered it also prevented it from system going to standby (using powercfg and MCE standby tool)

the issue seems to be the remote server, that simply doesnt send any response to media portal.
I cant tell why there is no check for a timeout within moving picture. maybe the server already opened the file stream but didnt send any data.

I had this and adding exceptions in the antivirus to all the MP processes and directories, plus the timeshifting and recorded tv directories corrected the problem. Which was odd because it always worked fine up until that point without having to do any of that.

Yes they are live.Both stop transmission at 7pm i think. I'll have to look more closely i suppose but had a good look last night and there are no duplicate channels (unlike BBC3 and 4) which is how i fixed it.
